Alex Hoagland is an Assistant Professor at University of Toronto’s Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.

His research explores questions related to health and inequality, and has examined the role of information and effects of behavioural biases on take-up of high-value care and adoption of technological innovations by healthcare providers. He has also examined intersectional barriers to equitable care and health policy development for communities in North America.

Dr. Hoagland is an Adjunct Scientist at Women’s College Hospital, Co-Director of the Canadian Centre for Health Economics, and has collaborated with partners including the Ontario Ministry of Health. He received his PhD in Economics from Boston University.
