Ceren Baysan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Toronto. Her research explores questions related to governance, development, and crime and conflict, and has examined how information campaigns drive political polarisation in Turkey, how to boost wages of rural agricultural workers in India, and more.

Dr. Baysan is also an affiliate of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and the CEPR Development Economics group. She received her PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
