Michael Stepner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Toronto. His research explores questions related to health and labour and has explored the relationship between health and economic inequality, how public policy can improve the health and financial security of low-income populations, and more.

Dr. Stepner is also a research principal at Opportunity Insights at Harvard University. He received his PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
