Simeon Nichter is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of California, San Diego. His research explores questions related to governance, development, and social protection. He has examined corruption in Latin America, how and why citizens often play a crucial role in sustaining clientelism, how individuals’ vote choices influence their later access to services, and more.

Dr. Nichter is also an affiliate of the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) and the Policy Design and Evaluation Lab. He received his PhD in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
