Raji Jayaraman is Associate Professor at ESMT Berlin and the Department of Economics at the University of Toronto. Her research investigates the role of economic incentives and organisational design on economic development. Her recent work spans a wide range of geographies, and has explored how social structures and public policies affect education and labour market outcomes, with a focus on gender and ethnicity.

Raji is also the Academic Director of the FUTURE Institute for Sustainable Transformation at ESMT Berlin. She holds a B.A. in Economics and Finance from McGill University, an M.A. in International and Development Economics from Yale University, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University.
